About the  BioMonitor Project

During the last twenty years, EU policymakers have placed high priority on the expansion of bio-based value chains to reduce use of petrochemicals and mitigate climate change. Various initiatives, from EU policymakers, industries and other organizations made this priority evident. The transition to a more bio-based economy needs to be monitored to evaluate its progress and impact. The
BioMonitor project contributes to this process of monitoring and evaluation by re-structuring its existing data and modelling framework. The ultimate goal of the BioMonitor project is to get a clearer picture of the bioeconomy in Europe, and how it affects our lives.
